  ICE Banking Process
Of the cases that are presented from residency, cases which are Complete will be “banked” until the balance of case requirements have been met from post-residency practice. Follow link for details.

  Cast-Radiograph Evaluation for Buccolingual Inclination
Exception for Buccolingual Inclination scoring: Do not score the mandibular 1st premolars nor the distal cusps of the second molars.

  Discrepancy Index scoring clarification
For Anterior and Lateral Open Bite: No points are scored for any tooth that is blocked-out of the arch or simply not fully erupted.

What's new in this version?
An enhanced 2010-2011 version of the Case Report Work File (CRWF) has been released. Follow the link to see what is new. Note that any version of the CRWF may be uploaded to the electronic submission site.

ABO Case numbers electronically assigned
ABO Case numbers will be assigned according to ascending sequence of DI value (or Category number) after your cases are setup on the electronic submission site. Wait for case number assignment and then complete record identification labels and the Title Page for each notebook.

Electronic submission
Case report data and allowable digital models must be submitted to the ABO electronically no later than two weeks prior to your exam date. You will log into the ABO's electronic submission site and choose whether to enter your case report data directly or to upload your PDF Case Report Work File or use a combination of both methods. Examinees will be informed by email that the submission site is available.

Digital pretreatment study models
Cadent's OrthoCAD Vers 3.0047 and Geodigm's emodel are approved for digital pretreatment model submission to the clinical exam. Digital models will be uploaded at the electronic submission site.
  • For pretreatment models in OrthoCAD format, use this version to score for DI and save your scoring with the digital model.
  • Contact Geodigm directly to request a scoring for Discrepancy Index.

Photographic occlusal views requirement
Maxillary and mandibular occlusal views are mandatory in each photographic series if treatment was initiated on or after March 1, 2009.
